The History of the Fresnel Lens: The Invention that Saved a Million Ships

Join us for a fireside chat featuring USCG Certified Lampist Thomas J. Cummella, Bill Grieder, the grandson of one of the last Great Point Lighthouse Keepers, and Chuck Allard, Museum Director. They will discuss the history of the Fresnel Lens, Egan Maritime's collection, and Nantucket's Great Point Lighthouse.

This event is part of a four-day visit from Thomas J. Cummella, who is on the island to assess Egan's Fresnel Lens. His work will help us preserve this important artifact for years to come.
