A Night to Remember: Thank You for Supporting Egan Maritime
On Friday, July 11, we welcomed friends, supporters, and maritime enthusiasts to Night at the Museum, a truly special evening of connection, celebration, and shared purpose in support of Egan Maritime’s mission.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, the event raised just under $195,000—bringing us close to our $200,000 goal. That total includes over $40,000 raised during the paddle raise, with $25,000 of it generously matched by our Board of Trustees. Every dollar raised directly supports our efforts to bring Nantucket’s seafaring history to life.
From hands-on educational programs for Nantucket students to interpretive exhibits at the Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum to unforgettable voyages aboard the Tall Ship Lynx, your support fuels the learning experiences that define Egan Maritime.

We were also honored to announce Alfred F. “Alfie” Sanford III as the 2025 recipient of the Caldwell Heritage Award. A master wooden boatbuilder, sailor, and maritime mentor, Alfie’s lifelong dedication to Nantucket’s maritime traditions is an inspiration. Sponsored by Jessica and Drew Guff, the award was presented by Michelle Maturo, granddaughter of Robert Caldwell, whose vision helped establish the Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum.
