The Nantucket Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum hosted two free Family Day programs in 2017 thanks to a generous gift from Museum supports Ritchie, Katie, and Westray Battle. More than 600 patrons of all ages participated in the programs, and a museum attendance record was made on the August 11 Family Day with 417 visitors to the museum. The Battle Family gift provided free admission for all as well as the creation of new educational activities to be introduced.
