Catherine is a third-year student at Suffolk Law School in Boston, and her
interests include maritime law. On September 8, 2022, at the Nantucket
Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum, she will present the results of her
research on legal issues surrounding the ownership of the wreckage of
the Nantucket Lightship #117 that sank off Nantucket after being rammed
by the RMS Olympic in May 1934.
Ms. Rockett’s discussion will be of interest to divers, lawyers, collectors of
maritime artifacts and anyone following the history of the US Coast Guard
and its predecessor organizations.
