Join us for Egan's 2025 Shipwreck Showtimes, a free series of films with maritime themes. Together with Nantucket Dreamland and the Nantucket Atheneum, Egan will be hosting Sunday afternoon showings of three acclaimed movies — an action drama, an animated fantasy, and a documentary — that each features a momentous voyage at sea. Previously held entirely at Egan's Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum at 158 Polpis Road, the series this year will launch at the Lifesaving Museum and move to Dreamland and then to the Atheneum.

Ponyo: Sunday, March 30, at 4 p.m. at the Dreamland

Egan's 2025 film series continues on March 30 at 4 p.m. with a free screening of the animated movie Ponyo at Nantucket Dreamland. Written and directed by renowned Japanese filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away, The Boy and the Heron), this 2008 film — beloved by both children and adults — tells the story of a young boy who rescues a magical goldfish and names her Ponyo. When Ponyo's wizard father seeks his daughter's return, she and the boy embark on a transformative ocean journey in an effort to restore the world and remain together.

All are welcome to participate in a 15-minute discussion following the film. Reserve complimentary tickets here on Dreamland's website.

The film series, presented in partnership with Nantucket Dreamland and the Nantucket Atheneum, will conclude next week at the Atheneum with The Endurance: Shackleton’s Legendary Antarctic Expedition.
