Join us for Egan's 2025 Shipwreck Showtimes, a free series of films with maritime themes. Together with Nantucket Dreamland and the Nantucket Atheneum, Egan will be hosting Sunday afternoon showings of three acclaimed movies — an action drama, an animated fantasy, and a documentary — that each features a momentous voyage at sea. Previously held entirely at Egan's Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum at 158 Polpis Road, the series this year will launch at the Lifesaving Museum and move to Dreamland and then to the Atheneum.

All Is Lost: Sunday, March 23, at 4 p.m. at the Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum.

Egan's 2025 film series launches on March 23 at 4 p.m. with a free screening of the critically acclaimed drama All Is Lost at the Nantucket Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum. Written and directed by J.C. Chandor, this 2013 film tells the story of a sailor (Robert Redford) whose yacht collides with a ship, leaving him stranded in the Indian Ocean, alone, to face a harrowing storm. This suspenseful tale of survival, told without dialogue, garnered the best actor award for Redford from the New York Film Critics Circle.

All are welcome to participate in a 15-minute discussion following the film. Enjoy complimentary tea, coffee, and snacks—no registration required.

The film series, presented in partnership with Nantucket Dreamland and the Nantucket Atheneum, will continue next week at Dreamland with Ponyo.
