The Nantucket Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum is delighted to share that July and August 2017 Family Days will be free of charge to the public at large thanks to the generous support of Ritchie, Katie and Westray Battle. The Battles are beloved museum supporters and neighbors “who love Nantucket and the preservation of its iconic maritime history for our children.”
Supporting the museum’s annual Family Days has alleviated the admission price and provided new opportunity to develop captivating and thrilling children’s programs for all of Nantucket. In addition to supporting Family Days, Ritchie, Westray and Katie’s gift will also fund the restoration of the artifact Wreck Pole that welcomes visitors to the museum at the top of the board walk. Battle Family Charitable Fund and Ritchie, Westray and Katie for the gift of free history experiences and memories for all Nantucket families.
