Egan Maritime Institute is proud to join The Blockade Runners Mayflower II Shallop Tour this August, a regional maritime event marking Revolution 250 and the 250th anniversary of the Revolutionary War. The tour celebrates the daring exploits of Captain and patriot Paul Cuffe, who is remembered for evading the British blockade by using a shallop to move supplies along the coast.
Over an 11-day period, the Plimoth Patuxet Museum’s Fuller Shallop, crewed by sailors in colonial garb, will make four ports of call: Westport Point, Padanaram, Cuttyhunk, and Nantucket. The voyage recreates the kind of small-boat seamanship that made figures like Cuffe legendary in the region's Revolutionary-era history.
The Shallop Tour will remind us of the daring exploits of the legendary captain and patriot Paul Cuffe, who evaded the British blockade by using a Shallop to transport supplies.
The Mayflower II’s Fuller Shallop, manned with a crew outfitted in colonial garb, will visit four (4) ports over an 11-day period. Ports of call include Westport Point, Padanaram, Cuttyhunk, and Nantucket.

Join us for free public tours from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at 36 Washington Street. Tours run in small groups down the pier, where volunteers and crew will share the history of this remarkable vessel.
While you wait, explore hands-on history with the Nantucket Historical Association, test your knowledge at the Egan Maritime trivia station, and learn more about the vessel and its story. No registration required — just check in at the information table when you arrive. The last tour departs at 11:00 AM, so come early to secure your spot.
