Come join EMI at the Shipwreck and Lifesaving Museum as we host Dr. Cynthia Pilskaln for a
presentation about her work as a marine geologist and ocean climate scientist. Dr. Pilskaln has
studied sediment particle transport through the lens of climate change all over the world. You
may have heard that Nantucket can lose up to 1 foot per year of coastline in some places, but
how does this happen and what can we do to improve our Island’s coastal resiliency to preserve
our maritime industry? Learn more about what research is being done to help protect coastal
