The Endurance: Shackleton's Legendary Antarctic Expedition: Sunday, April 6, at 4 p.m. at the Atheneum.
This year's film series is presented in partnership with Nantucket Dreamland and the Nantucket Atheneum.
Shipwreck Showtime: All Is Lost
Egan's 2025 film series launches on March 23 at 4 p.m. with a free screening of the critically acclaimed drama All Is Lost at the Nantucket Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum. Written and directed by J.C. Chandor, this 2013 film tells the story of a sailor (Robert Redford) whose yacht collides with a ship, leaving him stranded in the Indian Ocean, alone, to face a harrowing storm. This suspenseful tale of survival, told without dialogue, garnered a best actor award for Redford from the New York Film Critics Circle.

Written and directed by renowned Japanese filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away, The Boy and the Heron), this 2008 film — beloved by both children and adults — tells the story of a young boy who rescues a magical goldfish and names her Ponyo.
